For this layout, the device is positioned with the rubber ring facing down, the majority of the ports facing backwards, and the top face of the device curving down towards you. Starting on the front edge, from left to right: 1. Female 1/4" headphones output for the host mix 2. Female 1/4" headphones output for the guest mix Next, the row of buttons at the bottom of the top face. Some of these act as toggles, but are simple push buttons meaning that the current state can't be determined without monitoring and/or using the Vocaster Hub software. From left to right: 1. Mute toggle for host mic 2. Enhance toggle for host mic: this only toggles on and off the active preset. You cannot change between presets on the physical unit, and must do so within Vocaster Hub. If you're planning to process any input via Reaper anyway, this will likely not be of interest to you, as the preset parameters can't be customised. 3. Select/auto-gain button for host mic: press before using the gain dial to manually set the gain, or toggling phantom power, for the first microphone input. Hold it in to engage the auto-gain feature. 4. Select/auto-gain for guest mic: same as #3, but for guest microphone input. 5. Enhance toggle for guest mic: same as #2, but for guest microphone input. 6. Mute toggle for guest mic Above the row of buttons are three knobs, a large one in the middle with two smaller ones to either side. From left to right: 1. Level for host headphones output and main outputs: this has a vaguely tactile pointer in the form of an indented line, and a defined turning range. 2. Gain for selected microphone: to select a microphone, single-press the select/auto-gain button for either the host/guest mic (third/fourth buttons on the bottom row respectively), and then turn this knob to adjust. There are no start/end points, nor a tactile or visual pointer on the knob or surroundings. The knob turns endlessly in both directions. To verify the currently set gain level, use the Vocaster Hub software. 3. Level for guest headphones output: same presentation as #1. The back of the device, from left to right, starts with: 1. Female XLR input for host microphone 2. Female XLR input for guest microphone The rest of the controls, to the right of the XLR inputs, are split into two rows, where the bottom row is furthest away from you/closest to whatever surface the device is resting on. From left to right, the bottom row has: 1. Horizontal female 1/4" TRS main outputs, L/R 2. Female 1/8" TRS line/camera out 3. Female USB-C computer connection And the top row: 1. 48v phantom power button: this toggles phantom power for the selected microphone input, not both at once. Use the same technique to select a microphone as with the gain knob, i.e. single-press the select/auto-gain button for either the host or guest mic, and then press this button to toggle phantom power. This is a simple push button rather than a toggle switch, so you'll need to separately verify whether phantom power is on or off, e.g. using Vocaster Hub. 2. Female 1/8" auxiliary TRRS input 3. Bluetooth button: hold to activate pairing mode 4. Kensington Lock Slot 5. Power button: out is off, in is on
