How to use reaper snapshots. Ever wanted to A/B a set of fx, or compare different mixes easily with out having to load different files, or do a bunch of fx or mix manipulation? How about transfering that perfect fx chain or mix  from one project to another? then snapshots are for you. Lets start by creating a snapshot. Load up some of your favorite fx, make some settings, pan, volume, and so forth, and then do the keystroke control alt shift n. Give your snapshot a name and hit enter. You are in a dialogue where you can do lots of stuff to control how your snapshot is applied. Tab around the dialogue and have a look. Make a new snapshot, go previous or next, move snapshots up and down, and all sorts of stuff. When you get to filter grouping, Note the radio buttons currently should be set to full track mix. If you choose custom, you can pick which controls like volume, pan and so forth are saved in your snapshot. Hit escape to  get out of this dialogue. If you want to over write a current snapshot with a different setting, do alt shift s. If you want to move between saved snapshots, hit alt shift and top num row dash or equals. If you want to recall your current snapshot, do alt shift and back space. If you want to get back in the snapshots dialogue, hit alt shift grave accent ` When you are in the snapshot dialogue,  if you do applications key on your list of snapshots, then you get all sorts of other options. This menu allows you to import and export snapshots. Rather than going in to this menu, if you want to rename a snapshot while in the list, hit f2 and rename it just as you would many common windows elements. You can get very picky deciding which tracks you want to apply your snapshot to with track selection status. Note the check boxes in the snapshot dialogue pertaining to this. If you find your snapshots aren't working in your project after a reload, going in to your snapshot dialogue and picking one to apply seems to break the wheels loose and gets them working again.
